Do you handle both residential and commercial projects?

Yes! We provide design, construction, and maintenance for backyard koi ponds, office fountains, and large-scale water features for commercial properties. We are fully insured to work with commercial properties.

Are you licensed and insured?

Absolutely. We are a licensed contractor (CSLB #1142677) and have been in business for over 18 years, ensuring your property is in professional hands. We maintain a variety of insurance including Workman's Compensation, Liability, and Commercial Auto.

How often should my pond be serviced?

For optimal health and clarity, we typically recommend a professional maintenance visit every 1–4 weeks, depending on the size of the feature and the fish population, and a variety of other factors. Get in touch and we can recommend a service schedule.

Why is my pond water turning green?

If your pond water is turning green, the immediate cause is a single cell algae that floats in the water. The underlying cause is typically an imbalance of nutrients and/or insufficient filtration. We can assess your filtration system and pond environment to restore crystal-clear water.

Can you get rid of the algae in my pond?

Here's the truth! Algae is a natural part of the ecosystem, so we don't want to completely eliminate it, but we want to MANAGE it. We specialize in both immediate "knock-down" treatments and long-term management. Depending on whether you have "pea soup" green water or string algae clinging to rocks, we use a combination of manual labor, filtration improvements, and biological management. Our goal isn't just to kill today's algae bloom, but to balance your pond's ecosystem so it doesn't come back.

"Thirty years ago I built a garden railway for my children (and me of course) to enjoy. The central feature of the railway was a small pond and waterfall. As my children grew up and developed other interests, they lost interest in the train. They played less and less with the train and it eventually was abandoned. The pond and waterfall suffered a similar fate and eventually all I had was a big hole on the ground that would occasionally fill up with rain water and mosquitoes. Flash forward to Spring 2026 when I decided to bring the railroad back to life. The first step, however, was to bring the pond and waterfall back from years of neglect. That is where Andrew and his team at Pacific Pond and Aquarium stepped in. I had previously contacted other pond contractors and TBH, I was not too comfortable with their suggested course of action. But the first time that I talked to Andrew I knew that he was the guy for the job. No BS, no nonsense, no upselling, just an honest assessment of the situation and a workable plan of action—and a fair and reasonable price. The work took several days to complete because the old pond was a mess, but at the end I had what I wanted. Andrew, Alex and Kaileb all worked very hard to get my pond and waterfall back in shape. And I am very pleased with the results. There had been a couple of incidents, involving raccoons and a careless contractor (not from Pacific Aquarium) but Andrew responded to these emergencies and got things working again. I am writing this review while out in the garden, enjoying the enchanting sound of falling water. The railroad will be restored over the course of this summer. In the meantime, I am enjoying my “new” water feature. So, If you are looking to fix up an existing water feature or are thinking of adding a water feature to your home or business, call Andrew, you will be glad you did"
